TANK: 10 Billion Years of Gorging on Slop

Soft CentreWhite Bay Power Station, Sydney2025(Vehicle Debris, Salt, Electronics, Latex Sheeting, x360 Selfie Sticks, River Stones, 3D Printed PETG & TPU, Barnacles, Ring Lights, Cotton Rope, Motors, Rubber)  - In collaboration with Jaxon Stickler

Sculpture and Installation commissioned by Soft Centre for their Sydney festival at White Bay Power Station.

The festering body of the saviour heaves in the black forest. Circled by mimes, NPCs, and self-replicating false entities, it lurches across the desolate spiritual plane of a dead internet. CPU injury has led to disaster: an infinite morning doomscroll. Metallic popcorn lung, delivered via express Temu haul, has eroded its cognition beyond repair. Its breath shakes, cognition fractured by a meaningless flow of input. It is unclear whether it still believes it is being worshipped. What does ten billion years of gorging on slop do to a god?

Loaf, Sluddle and Seat

BA Fashion Design Graduate Project RMIT University, Melbourne
2023

(Upcycled Bar Stool, Metal Galv Tubes, Car Carpet Underlay, Kangaroo Pelt Scraps, Backpack Mesh, Goat Skin Scraps, Reflective Cord, Fishing Weights, Synthetic Hair, Dyed Foam, Deer Antler, Metal Tassel Cap Hardware, Electrical Clips, Ethical Taxidermy Foxtail)

Loaf, Sluddle and Seat aims to elevate the non human by working through an object oriented ontology perspective, a framework that rejects the privileging of human existence over the existence of other beings. The objects form their own boundaries by restricting the human body to interact among them through specific positioning, situating humans as secondary and non humans with their own sense of agency and control - offsetting ego and creating a trustful exchange to reset our anthropocentric instincts. Through oscillating between familiar and strange, we can embrace difference not as rigid separation but as uncanny affinity, we see that humans are more like non humans, and non humans are more like humans.

Oil + Axel

Soft Centre
SUPERMODEL
Trades Hall, Melbourne
2024

(Car Parts, Silicone Pump, Rubber Cord,  Artifical Hair, Steel Tube Frames, Metal Hosing, Sheepskin, Marine Beads, Deer Antler, Aquarium Hose, Floatation Buoy, Silicone Tubing, Peristatlic Pump, Black Ink, Water)

Oil + Axel sculptures were commissioned by Soft Centre for their Melbourne festival, SUPERMODEL.

Oil and Axel pulse between machine and creature, seeking wisdom from non-humans by emulating their ways of being—ways beyond human understanding. As they mimic these forms, a strange uncanniness takes shape: blood courses through silicone veins, hoofed limbs find their grip, thermoplastic bulges sprout hair. In this fetus-like state, Oil and Axel nurture themselves, evolving and expanding through their downloaded embodiment.

Expansion Device
‘For Productivity Cultivation and Company
Values Alignment’

Under The Roof  Candid Arts Gallery, London2025Commissioned for Under The Roof London for exhibition ‘exe.hail’ held at Candid Arts Gallery.
This sculpture was developed in direct response to the ideological infrastructure of exe.hail — a constructed reality governed by The Company, an omniscient authority promoting unity, wellness, and compliance through behavioural regulation. Positioned as a speculative internal product, the device maintains emotional hygiene and productivity alignment across all personnel. In this world, compliance is reframed as care, dissent as misalignment, and friction as a symptom to be managed. The work sits within this fiction as both asset and artefact, embodying the absurd logic of a system too self-satisfied to sense its own collapse.

Editorial shoot and body aretfacts commissioned by Pessima Magazine for Issue 3.

Pessima is an annual, independant magazine that explores and represents Trans* and Non Binary Identities. It delves into how these identities are Chloe.Newberry@braemar.vic.edu.auyed through the lens of young contemporary art, highlighting the varied experiences of the subjects. The project emerged in response to the absence of a similar editorial initiave within the international magazine landscape. With firsthand experience of what it means to be an emerging young Trans* artists in Italy, Simona and Marte combined their efforts to create a platform that could amplify the voices of those identities and art forms often overlooked or silenced by the mainstream. Pessima was thus conceived primarily to shape a dialogue around Trans* art that genuinely represents and honors us.

Crowbii Scalp System

Radiant Pavillion: Contemporary Jewellery & Object Biennial Testing Grounds, Melbourne
2024

(Rubber Cord and Grommets, Flocked 3D Printed PLA, Taxidermy Crows Feet, Claws and Wings)

A series of prosthetic scalp adornment sets.

Crow and machine synthesise, emerging as an exploration of channelling non-human ontology through the human cranium via a sentient, creaturely device.

Taxidermy crow legs and talons embed into matte platelets, sharp edges protrude from soft bullets, flat surfaces intersect through rounded orbs, rubber tubes plug into skin as feeding points of information to be delivered. Imbued with crow spirit, its guidance, knowledge and perspective is hybridised with otherworldly technology to reconfigure a new way of existence in the human brain, adapting ways of being and decentering the human from anthropocentric systems.
